Biography

Zhe Du is an assistant professor in the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering of the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), working under the Key Laboratory of High-Performance Ship Technology, Ministry of Education section of the school. His research involves motion planning of the Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV), distributed control of multi-vessel systems, and cooperative control of floating object manipulation.

He obtained his doctor’s degree with a specialization in cooperative control of autonomous multi-vessel systems for floating object manipulation from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and his master’s degree with a specialization in traffic information engineering and control from the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT).

Zhe is dedicated to research in the areas of guidance and control for autonomous vessels. His research goal is to contribute to making the shipping industry and ocean engineering more smart, efficient, and safe.
